Police today assured of foolproof security throughout Dhaka ahead of Pohela Boishakh celebrations – the Bangla new year.

“We have no specific threat from

 any quarters at the moment,” Asaduzzaman Mia, commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said.

“However, we will cover Dhaka in a thorough security net to ensure peaceful Pohela Boishakh celebrations,” he told reporters at a press briefing this afternoon.
